15.12.2025

Our faculty hosted an important event addressing the transformative power of science and technology in the field of health. As part of the HEM113 Health and Technology course led by our Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem İBRAHİMOĞLU, a panel discussion was held on 15 December 2025 at the Cevizli Conference Hall of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The panel explored the topics "Innovations and Future Expectations in Healthcare in the 100th and Future Expectations in Healthcare‘ and ’Digital Transformation in Healthcare: Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Decision Support Systems."

The event, which began at 2:30 p.m., took place with the participation of academics and students. Prof. Dr. Emine CAN, Head of the Department of Physics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, who was one of the scheduled speakers, was unable to attend the event due to health issues.

Quantum Technologies and the Future of Health

The first speaker of the event was Efe SEVER, a second-year student in our university's Physics Engineering undergraduate programme. In his speech, Sever touched upon the basic principles of developing quantum technologies

and informed the participants about their implications in the field of health and the revolutionary innovations they will create in the future.

Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Limitations

Dr Emin TARAKÇI, a graduate of our university's Graduate School of Occupational Health and Safety Doctoral Programme, then took the floor and gave a comprehensive presentation on the current applications of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector. Dr Tarakçı highlighted the speed and ease that artificial intelligence provides in diagnosis and treatment, as well as the difficulties encountered in using this technology, ethical issues and technical limitations.
