Within the scope of the School Health Implementation Protocol developed in collaboration between Istanbul Medeniyet University Rectorate and Istanbul Kartal District National Education Directorate, two projects, "The Effects of Education Given to Middle School Students on Students' Menstrual Hygiene Management Behaviors" and "Improving Menstrual Health and Premenstrual Symptom Coping Behaviors in Adolescent Students," were successfully completed. The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacer ATAMAN, a faculty member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department.
The projects included 7th and 8th grade female students from Yavuz Selim Middle School in Kartal, Istanbul. The project team included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin İLHAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemile SAVCI, Dr. Merve TUNCER, and Specialist [Name missing]. Within the scope of the project in which teacher Emine BARBAROS participated, "Menstrual Hygiene Training" was given to 7th-grade female students. In the project involving 8th-grade female students, with the project team including Prof. Dr. Ayşe OKANLI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin İLHAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemile SAVCI, Dr. Merve TUNCER, and Specialist Teacher Emine BARBAROS, students received "Menstrual Health and Premenstrual Symptom Management Training."
When the students' data before and after the trainings were compared, it was determined that their behaviors improved positively after the trainings.
