Our Faculty Member Participated in the Green Nursing Course

Associate Professor Dr. Özlem İbrahimoğlu, a faculty member of our Faculty's Nursing Department, participated in the TÜBİTAK 2237-A - Green Nursing for Sustainable Health Course, organized by the Nursing Department of İzmir Tınaztepe University Faculty of Health Sciences in İzmir between March 2-4, 2026, to draw attention to the importance of sustainability and environmentally friendly practices in healthcare services. The course, which aimed to increase environmental awareness and promote sustainable health practices in the field of nursing, was conducted with the participation of academics and health professionals.

The course covered current topics such as carbon footprint in healthcare, sustainable hospital practices, environmentally friendly care approaches, and the role of nurses in environmental sustainability. In sessions conducted with contributions from expert academics in the field, scientific and practical approaches to reducing environmental impacts in healthcare systems were shared.

Throughout the event, participants learned about innovative approaches to reducing the environmental impact of healthcare, while the critical role of nurses in developing sustainable healthcare was emphasized once again. By the end of the course, participants had gained significant advantages in applying their knowledge and experience to clinical practice.
