Associate Professor Dr. Özlem İbrahimoğlu, a faculty member of our Faculty's Nursing Department, participated as an invited speaker at the 2nd Surgical Nursing Symposium organized by Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital on May 13, 2026, with her presentation titled "Digital Transformation and Patient Safety in the Pre-Surgical Process".
The presentation covered the impact of digital systems on patient safety in the pre-surgical process, authentication applications, electronic record systems, surgical safety checklists, and risks encountered in pre-operative process management. It was also emphasized that digital transformation is not merely a system that simplifies record-keeping, but also a crucial tool for strengthening patient safety.
During the symposium, scientific presentations evaluated the contribution of digitalization applications in surgical nursing to safe care processes; and current approaches were discussed among academics and healthcare professionals. At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem İbrahimoğlu's presentation was followed with great interest by the participants and received positive feedback.
